Anna Siqueiros grew up in a family for whom political activism went hand-in-hand. Her great uncle, the renowned and controversial David Alfaro Siqueiros, whose murals depict the plight of the poor and disenfranchised, is considered to be one of Mexico’s three great muralists in Mexico and around the world (along with Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco). Her father, Carlos Siqueiros, was also a political activist behind the scenes and worked hard instilling in her the the values of the cilvil rights movement and the important issues which Cesar Chavez and other political figures did in giving a helping hand in the promotion  of The United Farm Workers Union. Anna regards her passion to inspire social change through art as her birthright. After painting her first mural at the age of three with her mothers lip stick and makeup, Anna’s parents encouraged her to explore her artistic curiosity. Her mother and father, Ofelia and Carlos Siqueiros, supplied her with paper, pencils and paints. The family taught her a moral sensibility of her environment and others around her that were even less fortunate. As a teenager, Anna was selected from thousands of her peers to display her work at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara. There she received an Outstanding Participation Award. She subsequently earned a Certificate of Fine Arts as an illustrator from Otis College. In 1989, she worked with children with cancer as an art director, and counselor for the American Cancer Society in New Mexico. David Siqueiros                                           David Siqueiros in St. Kitts

President and Vice President | Director of Photography

David Siqueiros describes his creative position as an expressionist who uses the traditional photographic techniques and the latest in digital technology to convey his images. Known for his freestyling attitude, his compositions seeks to reveal that which he feels is beautiful and emotional. Lately his subjects include street artists who he spends time with on location and eventually in his studio. His preferred photographic medium is black and white, which he feels takes the viewer out of the realm of reality. In his pop art expressions, he enjoys the same effect as it allows the viewer to focus on the image itself. “Fine art black and white photography is pop art in its purest form.” His life became a time-lapse after traveling for a year to almost every Caribbean island creating time lapse films. Currently David is based in Miami and is commissioned, and his work collected, by a variety of clients including the Warhol Museum, Louis Vuitton, the InterContinental and Diddy to name a few.

Obersand Franco

 Director of Children’s Affairs

Obersand E. Franco is an intuitively dedicated mother and an Painter who firmly believes Art is one of the most important venues we could consider when we look forward to evolving together towards a collectively created better place for us all to live in, grounded in sustainable models designed to work for each of us as individuals too.

In actuality, we find ourselves being bombarded with self-destructive outer influences. Evident is the adjective to clearly describe the present global degenerative situation where sadly children are the first and most vulnerable target directed victims.

Inspired in regenerating the world with personal contributions, as a mother, Obersand Franco believes that, “…devotion in nurturing kids, doesn’t necessarily gets limited to our own kids, but to every present kid in our lives, for the simple reason that, if we are trees, they are our seeds. It is said to us by our elders and in the everyday subtle Nature’s language and voice.” — she says.

At every moment, inspired in her ancestral indigenous principles of balance, and committed to the idea that healing starts within, as it starts in the now, she promotes the concept of art by designing workshops for kids based on love, intuition and integrative practices, which minutely crafted, are founded on the resolution of showing the child a way of how to lucidly understand the world from a fully aware & clear vision of knowing and driving themselves in this experience of living in the most balanced ways, founded in moral values.

Always happy to commit herself to the community, as she sees it as, no less than a big family. Obersand E. Franco finds herself tremendously excited about being part of The Siqueiros Foundation of the Arts, as Director of Children’s Affairs, because she contemplates in the act of serving others, a way of resonating and irradiate the message of how getting involved with any artistic discipline may turn into a window to our personal and collective mind, and in the same way reminds us how we all are creators, and ultimately beautify our lives by putting color into this concrete world!

   Director of Sculpture Vartan Yossi

Yossi Vardan, was born in Chechnya to an artist and a school principal. After beginning art school at the age of six, Vardan had his first solo exhibition at age of 10. After graduating, he was accepted to an art school for the future students of The Academy of Fine Art.

Vardan’s work is a process that transforms ordinary matter into an extraordinary form that connects the realm of dreams and fillings with the material world. Conceptual Realism is a style that he has developed over many years. This is a continuation of the traditional style created by his beloved mentor Ernst Neizvestny.

Vardan is a third-generation sculptor, who graduated with an MFA from the Academy of Industrial and Fine Arts in Russia, and is currently working on his PhD, with a thesis dedicated to the Cappella Sistina. In 1997, after living through the turmoil of two wars in his homeland, Vardan was forced to leave the Soviet Union and fled to the United States due to the several factors and one of them was his Armenian ancestry. He comes from one of the prominent Armenian dynasties of Karabach, the dynasty of Melik Egan, the son of the Catholicos Gukas the First Garnetzy, house of Cilicia (1731-1737). His family roots began during the Second Jerusalem Temple, when in the First Century of BC, his and several other noble families of Jerusalem were invited to move to Armenia by the Emperor Tigranes theGreat.

Several years later, Vardan was recognized by the highly acclaimed sculptor Ernst Neizvestny as his only apprentice. Vardan is also the only non-American born Industrial Designer chosen to become one of the creators of presidential limousines for two US presidents, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Vardan works with traditional materials including stone, bronze, steel, glass, and has participated in some of the most exclusive projects worldwide including monuments, mosaic murals, portrait sculptures, and oversized stained glass as well as Roman, Florentine, and Byzantine mosaics. Vardan’s works are located in private collections in Saudi Arabia, France, England, Israel, Germany, Spain, and Russia. His more recent works are located in California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
