Join us for an unforgettable evening of powerful art, vibrant storytelling, and community reflection as we celebrate the opening of XICANA! San Diego—a groundbreaking exhibition honoring generations of Chicana artists whose work has shaped culture and consciousness from Los Angeles to San Diego.
This landmark exhibition shines a long-overdue spotlight on the dynamic creativity, resilience, and political voice of Chicana/x women artists. Featuring paintings, photography, textiles, installations, and performance, these works reclaim space, affirm identity, and speak truth through bold, transformative art.
Also featured is TONÁNTZIN, a multimedia installation by renowned designer Louis Verdad, paying tribute to the enduring spirit of the divine feminine through image, ritual, and sacred memory.
Curated by Dulce Stein and presented by ESMoA in collaboration with the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, XICANA! San Diego brings together intergenerational voices and community legacies in one powerful cultural moment.
